Garden get-together

Hohlandsbourg Castle is taking part in the national event, "Rendez-vous aux jardins" (Garden get-together), which is intended to make the general public aware of the importance of getting to know, protecting and restoring parks and gardens and also to pass on know-how.

Imagine the plan of the ideal garden and make a herbarium sheet with Indian ink.
In the Middle Ages, man was able to domesticate a hostile nature. The forest surrounding the castle is a source of life and food. One can hunt in it, pick berries and herbs. But it is also populated by wolves, robbers and evil spirits. It is dark and dangerous. However, transformed, reasoned and redesigned, this forest becomes a garden. It is no longer just a question of feeding, but also of healing, believing and loving.
